Dawn Of The Deaf is the first Short Fuses release in over 15 years. Now back with a bang by founding members Georgia Peach, Justin Staggs and Travis Ramin for you to Rock yourself until you wreck yourself! Produced by Daniel Rey!!
"Some sort of hybrid of Motorhead and the The Go-Go’s." - Maximum Volume Music
"It F'n rules." - Tommy Unit Live, Real Punk Radio
"Fucking killer track…putting it in my chicks show first….then goldies garage….this is what im talking about…whew!!!!! congrats baby." - Genya Ravan
"The Short Fuses is nothing but a musical storm able to destroy anything in its path. Dawn Of The Deaf is a joy to listen to." - WoNo Blog
"The Short Fuses are indeed Action Fuckin’ Rock!" - RPM Online
"According to their Facebook profile, they're "Blondie, MC5, and Motorhead in a blender." You can't argue with that description, and I have no idea how anyone can resist that. "The Pink" is a perfect example of that. It's loud and fast rock and roll with more edge than you could possibly want, and just the slightest bit of pop sensibility to somehow make this combination catchy. So... yeah. It's literally as they advertised." - If It's Too Loud
"If you were raised on a steady diet of the MC5, Motörhead, the Dead Boys, and The Misfits, these 12 thundering tracks ought to be right up your alley. From the powerhouse opener "Baby Got Bat Wings" to the face-melting "Rock Yo Self (Until You Wreck Yo Self") to the resistance anthems "Furiosa" and "No" to the arena death rock of the title track to the epic instrumental "High Score", Dawn of the Deaf is an unrelenting force!" - Faster And Louder
Sometimes nothing else will do besides getting the old band back
together. Miss Georgia Peach, Travis Ramin, and Justin Staggs have
reassembled The Short Fuses and set out on a mission to rock. With
this record, the The Short Fuses have really pulled out all of the stops.
The band enlisted the legendary Daniel Rey (The Ramones, The Misfits, Nashville Pussy) to produce, Adrian Popovich (Tricky Woo) to mix, and Geza X (Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Germs) to master it. How’s that for a murderers’ row?
Dawn of the Deaf is The Short Fuses’ most powerful and rocking
release to date. Drawing from some of the band’s bedrock influences
(Motörhead, MC5, Blondie), it’s a modern-day resistance record with
some additional Misfits-inspired touches reflecting the band members’
East Coast upbringing. Travis and Justin absolutely tear it up on guitar,
and Georgia’s booming voice soars with conviction and urgency.
Tracks like “Baby Got Back Wings” and “Rockford Getaway” are
perfect blends of soul music and heavy duty riff rock, while “Galloping
Ghost” generates enough force to summon Lemmy from the grave.
“You Ain’t Shit” will at least have you pumping your fist and singing
along loudly. The title track falls right into that Cult/Danzig sweet spot,
while “Rock Yo Self (Until You Wreck Yo Self)” is an epic number that
fully lives up to its title. If you’re going to go to the trouble to reactivate
a band after a decade and a half apart, you might as well swing for the
fences. The Short Fuses have made their ultimate rock record, and
Dawn Of The Deaf flat out rips. Turn it up and get inspired!
