"Garage trash punk soul-infused party animals Mad Mojo Jett return with a mini-album of stomping grooves." - Louder Than War
"I'll need a double-amp system to crank these smokers to the proper level!" - Scott Hudson, The Ledge
"Eric Levy (vocals, guitar, drums) from Jett Kick, Joe Holland (bass) from Low Rats, and Madalyn Rowell (vocals, drums) and Monet Wong (guitar) from The Toxenes play raw, rattling and raucous garage rock in which punk but also soul, doo-wop and bubblegum influences seep through. What makes them stand out, is that brilliant melodies and golden hooks shimmer beneath the gritty lo-fi sound. Very exciting, very catchy, very energetic, very cool." - Add To Want List
"Mad Mojo Jett play an unruly party time garage rock. Throughout their album Get Your Mind Straight they capture the enthusiasm and energy and the I-don’t-give-damn about a live-for-today attitude and it’s contagious." - Paul Blowfish
"We have a history of stumbling on killer bands out of Minneapolis and bringing you some of the most killer garage rock out there. These two finally collide with Mad Mojo Jett. The Minneapolis quartet has a new single out. "Missing Stairs" is vintage garage rocked mixed with the distortion of grunge and the edge of the new generation of punk bands. It's 60's groove, 90's aggression, and a tiny bit of modern pop. "Missing Stairs" is a swirling whirlwind of noise that is just barely being held in control. It constantly threatens to bust loose, but Mad Mojo Jett somehow keep it mostly under control." - If It's Too Loud
"This one rocks." - Bill Kelly's Blackhole Bandstand
"Guaranteed to be featured on future episodes of The Ledge." - Scott Hudson, Real Punk Radio
Mad Mojo Jett, a quartet based in Minneapolis, Minnesota putting out a raw and unpredictable blend of garage trash party pop. Their debut offers a contrarian and upbeat exploration of agitation, alienation, and hedonism set to foot-stomping beats.
The "Get Your Mind Straight" EP was recorded on analog tape over two quick live sessions in May 2021 and May 2022. The result captures the group's raw, stripped down, but yet bombastic approach given the literal double down on guitars, cathartic vocals, snares, and kick drums.
Continuing on with themes first introduced in their "Partyville" 7-inch (also available through Rum Bar Records distro), the 8-song "Get Your Mind Straight" EP is a songwriting exploration of phobias, angst, and complicated relationships as told through catchy melodies, trashy stomping beats, and garagey guitar work. Prepare to get your mind blown, while you get your mind straight with 22 minutes of raw rock 'n' roll.
