about

Vinyl LP available on Spiderbite Records: indonesianjunk.bandcamp.com

"One of Midwestern rock & roll’s hidden treasures, Indonesian Junk (and what about that “damn, I wish I’d thought of it first” band name?) just keeps getting better." - Michael "Denim" Toland, The Big Takeover

"It’s their best. It’s brilliant. From start to finish. There’s a vibe about this that says: “the end of the world is on its way, we might as well turn it up loud.” - Maximum Volume Music

"Whether you're a punk lifer, a glam rocker, a power pop geek, or just someone who waits patiently for Thin Lizzy or Cheap Trick to come on when the Boomer FM channel is playing, there's something on this album for you." - Lord Rutledge

"Indonesian Junk kick out great mid-tempo rock’n’roll. Right up my alley, honestly. Glam and punk are both reference points but this is neither as sophisticated as glam nor as fast as most punk. This is probably my favorite style of music and Indonesian Junk play it perfectly." - Razorcake DIY Punk

"Specializing in the mid-’70s era of the punk/glam/power pop end of the rock spectrum. Think the HEARTBREAKERS covering SLAUGHTER (i.e. SLAUGHTER AND THE DOGS’ second LP, when they’d shortened their moniker and slowed down a tad, with more power ballads), with a touch of the BOYS thrown in for good measure. And yup, it is that good, and catchy." - Maximum Rock n Roll

"The album is wonderfully catchy, demanding a second listen as soon as it ends after the final notes of the extensive sing-a-long ballad ‘Bawling My Eyes Out’. The whole record encapsulates a wide range of dynamic material. While some time can be spent talking about the influences they undeniably wear on their sleeve, Indonesian Junk are their own sharp and exciting entity, and ‘Living in a Nightmare’ is a colourful and enjoyable listening experience from start to finish." - RPM it's a Revolution

"Another great record from the Junk." - Rock N Roll Manifesto

"AN ALBUM BIG ON HOOKS." - Real Gone

"With an impressive ease to compose and interpret great ROCK songs the Indonesian Junk ensure the succession of groups as excellent as the New York Dolls, Boys, Hellacopters for example! The songs AND the attitude!" - Vox De Garage Grenoble

"A new record from Indonesian Junk is a cause for celebration. The Milwaukee glam-punk outfit has been serving up sneering and snotty songs since 2014, invoking classic acts like the New York Dolls and Dead Boys shot through with modern sensibilities and hooks aplenty." - Milwaukee Record

"Living In a Nightmare, to me, is the best Indonesian Junk album because it gives you a little bit of everything that makes this band so cool. It's a record full of big hooks, catchy tunes, loud guitars, and ripping solos. "Type of a Girl" and "One More Try" is an opening 1-2 punch that would be the envy of most power pop bands." - Faster And Louder

""One More Try" meets at the intersection of classic power pop and the Ramones circa Road To Ruin. In one single song, it takes on two of the greatest themes in guitar pop: the despair of love gone bad and the high hopes of old flames revived. This, my friends, is what you call an earworm!" - Lord Rutledge

"As always, Daniel James sounds like the spirits of Joey Ramone and Stiv Bators are co-residing within him. "Type of Girl" has the feel of a song that could have been a radio hit circa 1980. It's got hooks galore, and that guitar solo is nothing short of glorious! If you're brokenhearted or just like songs for the brokenhearted, this will be music to your ears." - Faster And Louder

This past year of quarantine and social distancing has kept the members of Indonesian Junk home, off the road, out of the streets, and watch the world around us Living In A Nightmare. Songwriter, guitarist and frontman Daniel James had a chalkboard and eraser in front of him and took to writing about the year of isolation coming out of it with a blistering, sick wall of sound. "Living In A Nightmare" is filled top to bottom from the opening first note to the last leather jacket clad snarl brimming with midwestern power-pop, punk & glam rock. Fuelled on a steady diet of Stiv Bators, Dead Boys, The Choir, The Raspberries, Blue Ash, Bomp! Records and Cheap Trick, add the glitter of NY Dolls, Suzi Quatro, and Hanoi Rocks, the type of guys you would bring home to meet mamma, have delivered the goods.

For fans of Ralph, Potsie, Richie, Mr. C, Leather Tuscadero, and the Fonz, if you grew up on Happy Days, and bands that Stiv & Frank Secich played in than you will LOVE Indonesian Junk, nuff said.
