"The Boston band remain reliable in an unreliable world, and the lead offering from their upcoming Rum Bar Records 7-inch/EP is another dose of pissed off rock and roll fit to soundtrack all our WTF’s as we carouse through our miserable days in a city we once loved but no longer recognize." - Vanyaland
“This band is chock full of all that’s true and real and good in music and, hell, maybe in life.” – Thrash N’ Bang
"This is the type of band that you can count upon to plug in, play loud, and kick you in the ass with some high quality rock n' roll."
- Faster And Louder
"Call it garage punk, proto-punk, classic rock, whatever you want, but the fact remains that Duck &Cover are a band making music that doesn’t need a label put on it." - For The Love Of Punk
"Gutsy punk dropkicks the tempo at its center. If you don’t want to let loose, it’s time to learn how. Duck & Cover will give you a run for your money." - Dig Boston
"Spiky guitars, hammering drums, and super-catchy vocals."
- Razorcake
Punk Rock in the 90's was a thing, right? Hair Metal in the 80's quite possibly was also a thing, correct? Standing on the corner with your buddies on a Friday night, ripped jeans, jean jackets, blasting Classic Rock and brown bagging tall boys in the 70's was definitely a thing, yes?? Duck & Cover is a thing.
Combining big hooks, filling arena aspirations, and elements of punk, glam metal, and straight up album oriented rock n' roll, the boys in Duck & Cover have created a knack for writing songs that stick in your head while raising your fist in the air and finding yourself thrashing that air guitar, singing along to every single word that is sung. You just can't help it.
The boys in Duck & Cover grew up on a heavy dose of AC/DC, Cheap Trick, The Replacements, Capn' Crunch, Franken Berry, Joan Jett, Ozzy, Slayer, Ramones, and Dead Boys. With empty LP jackets scattered all over the floor, waiting anxiously for their Circus, Flipside, and Maximum Rock N' Roll rag monthly subscriptions to be delivered, and posters of Rock n' Roll Heroes scotch taped to the walls, Duck & Cover did not get 'Stuck in Decline'. Hit play on the old tape deck, put the CD in your car stereo, drop the needle on this record and 'Rob Them Blind' with Duck & Cover.
Made up of ex-members of a few Boston bands from the past decade or so (The Coffin Lids, The Acro-brats, Bang Camaro, The Black Cheers, The Throwaways…), Duck & Cover is a new four-piece that does the whole rock/punk/garage/metal/pop thing. That’s a thing, right?

Rum Bar Records is turning into one of the absolute best labels for real rock and roll these days, if you haven't gotten hip to that trip. It's the boss sound from the Boss-town." - Bill Kelly, Bill Kelly's Teenage Wasteland WFMU
Reminded me of why I got into power pop all those years ago. But not the corny Beatles worshipping shit, the GOOD powerpop with some bite like the first Beat record and the Real Kids! Hope this isn't the only record they put out. But if they stop right here, they go out on top. Ben Brower
