about

You had me at "Tom Baker..." - Greg Lonesome, Rock N Roll Manifesto

"This album has a rough n’ ready sound for sure, but the songs are spot on. Mixing up the melodic, garage rock suss of The Replacements, with the alt rock/countrified grooves of the likes of Soul Asylum and the aforementioned Satellites, it’s a glorious cacophony of garage rock noise." - RPM Online

"Their overall sound is probably easiest to compare to the likes of the Replacements or Soul Asylum, in that they mix rock’n’roll with a punky attitude but aren’t afraid to slow things down or add hints of Soul or Country to the overall sound, while the guitar hooks will really get into your head and you’ll be humming them all the way home. The production has a great live feel to it, straight out of the Garage but capturing everything with an impressive clarity. The vocals are passionate and convincing, something you can believe in, while the whole album has a real swagger to its’ delivery that you can’t help but enjoy." - Fear And Loathing Fanzine

"Nana mixes Muscular Rock, Soul, Country… with emotions slung over the shoulder, but without sinking into sentimentality or fussy. Square Rock, solid, powerful and with something more!" - Voix de Garage Grenoble

Misunderstood, possibly? The makings of an all star band before they hit their prime artistically and musically, definitely.
Songs written by and a band fronted by Tom Baker including Paul Janovitz, Roland Smith, and Jim Delios whom have all gone on to Boston rock recognition of their own right. With production by legendary alt rocker Kevin Salem & Boston rock royalty Sir David Minehan, the band Nana were the blue print, the starting point for what these individual artists and musicians have later gone on to.

Nana was a misunderstood Boston band of the mid to late 90s. They blended rock, soul and rock with disregard to current fashions and trends. Thus, as a result, they were never famous. Produced by Kevin Salem, this is the only living document of the band Nana. Please enjoy.
