"This song is a hit!" - Lord Rutledge, Faster And Louder Take Me Back To Planet Earth What happened too The world I knew the things I liked to do are now all taboo We once had fun Lying in the sun With no sunblock on But those days are gone Yeah Take me back to planet earth Cause I’m missing my home turf Take me back to planet earth I still recall Kill the guy with the ball Smoking in the stall while drinking alcohol Now Everyone Looks alien And I’m on the run cause the Invasion’s begun, well... Take me back to planet earth Cause I’m missing my home turf Take me back to planet earth I see strange folks everywhere i go And this ain’t no hoax - I wanna go home Cruising the strip Is no longer hip Which I could book a trip On a rocket ship Cause I’ve been thrown Into a world of clones They’re all on their phone and I’m all alone Take me back to planet earth Cause I’m missing my home turf Take me back to planet earth

about

"For 16 sweet as sugar moments it takes you away from all this, and who can’t love that?" - Maximum Volume Music

"Take Me Back To Planet Earth is a vintage Muck and the Mires high energy garage rock and roll pop extravaganza." - Faster And Louder

"The usual relentless energy." - Bill Kelly's Blackhole Bandstand

"Now, if I could only get "Zoom Breakup" out of my head... Damn you Evan Shore!" - Johnny O'Halloran

"Muck and the Mires truly is Boston's gift to garage rock lovers all across the world." - WoNo Blog

"Their music crosses many different genres, one moment recalling early-Sixties Beatles and the next revving it up like the Ramones. They’ve shared stages with the likes of the Stooges, Bo Diddley, The Sonics and The Flamin’ Groovies, always being enthusiastically received by the headliners’ fans. Muck & The Mires are that kind of band… there’s really nothing there that you could dislike! With catchy, witty songs like ‘She Blocked My Number’ and ‘Zoom Break-up’, they’re not afraid to tackle the real problems faced in this modern world of ours, whilst simultaneously giving you a tune to whistle all the way home. Yeah, you’re going to enjoy this record or perhaps Covid has taken away your sense of good taste? If that’s the case, just keep listening until you make a full recovery." - Fear And Loathing Fanzine

"As ever, Muck And The Mires have taken the best of their clear influences and distilled them down into an EP full of grooving rock ‘n’ roll. They never disappoint and it’s always great to have them back." - Louder Than War

"Just shy of twenty years together and Muck And The Mires prove they still have the energy and humor to hang with the bands of today." - Allston Pudding

"What a great band, timeless songs and great muscianship!" - Jerry Lehane, The Dogmatics

"This song is a hit!" - Lord Rutledge

"I would be hard pressed to think of a band that crank out such consistently great music as Muck and the Mires !!" - Skybar Lusardi

"Boston garage rock mainstays, Muck and the Mires, take a nostalgic stroll through deserted Boston landmarks. 2:48 of pure, catchy, garage pop bliss!" - Lollipop Magazine

"The title track is pure retro early 60s fun, with lyrics seemingly inspired by grade B sci-fi flicks of the era." - Jersey Beat

"Fuzzed out full gonzo garage rock complete with the splendid organ wheeze but this has got a whole lot of balls in the mix as the guitar solo will testify Brothers & Sisters. This has got swing as well as the ability to shake your action pronto!" - RPM Online

"Power pop posse Muck and the Mires lament a ‘Zoom Breakup’ with their latest single, producing another song of pure melodic and enjoyable old school power pop, adding to their ever-growing collection of tracks that just make you want to sing along at the top of your voice!" - Uber Rock

"Take Me Back To Planet Earth" is a vintage Muck and the Mires upbeat garage rocker that will immediately get you moving and shaking. Yet there's some real substance and cleverness to the lyrics. The song is really about feeling alienated from modern life in general, but its themes are all the more poignant at this moment that requires us to live much of our lives "virtually". If you've felt like you've been living in an alternate reality or perhaps even on another planet in recent months or years, this will be your new favorite song. The rest of the EP is currently being mixed and mastered by Jim Diamond. - Faster And Louder

Buckle up and prepare yourself for a rocket trip fueled on pure power pop! Boston's garage rock ambassadors, Muck and the Mires, return with a six-song EP of brand new songs all written while the band has anxiously been waiting to take their live show back on tour around the world.

On "Take Me Back To Planet Earth”, Muck and the Mires steer their space ship back to a planet earth still reverberating with guitar tones straight out of 1964, garage rock growl and a few songwriting tricks they learned from touring the world with legendary powerpoppers like The Flamin’ Groovies, and Paul Collins Beat.

Concept album? We won’t go that far…but the joyful self-isolation described in "6 O’Clock Baby” contrasted with a closing track titled " Zoom Break Up” do provide perfect bookends for the remainder of these timeless songs.
