"Somehow this band manages to transport me back to 1993 while still adding a contemporary twist to their classic alt-pop sound. On a Rum Bar roster loaded with incredible talent, Stars Like Ours have cemented their place on the top shelf." - Lord Rutledge
"Listen to just a few seconds of Stars Like Ours and you’d swear it was 1994 again. The Boston three-piece’s devotion to the early nineties, when alternative rock was in its toddler years and at its peak, is uncanny: big pop hooks, ear-bleeding distortion, sweet ‘n’ sour vocals, over-caffeinated drumming. The five songs on Better Every Day – the follow-up to last year’s excellent self-titled album – are a sheer delight for those of us who came of musical age in that era, and “Winding Down” and “A Way to Remember” kick as much ass as anything back in the day. Warning: may cause spontaneous bouts of jumping around one’s office playing air guitar." - Michael "Denim" Toland, Big Takeover Magazine
"One of my musical "Wow!" moments of last year was hearing the Stars Like Ours CD released by Rum Bar Records. Essentially a compilation of singles and EPs released between 2015 and 2018, this album was such an on-the-nose throwback to early '90s left of the dial alternative rock that it gave me chills. And of course the players involved (Michelle Paulhus, Kristin Holliday, and Rice Edmonston) are all fixtures of Boston's world class indie/punk scene. Back with a new EP on Rum Bar, Stars Like Ours sound like even better version of their 2010s selves. Better Every Day again kicks up those throwback vibes, but the band sounds tighter and more powerful than ever and benefits from big-time production. When you think of a power trio, this is what it ought to sound like. The guitars, drums, and bass all shine, and these songs truly put the rock in indie rock. The band's '90s inspirations have always been obvious, but it has never been fully about that. First and foremost, this band is about killer tunes. And Better Every Day is full of 'em — always leaving me wanting more no matter how many times I spin the disc." - Faster And Louder
"Stars Like Ours is a bulldozer on their new EP Better Every Day!! They sound BIG all the time. That bass/drum sound is just pumping every second. The recording is a knockout." - Boston Groupie News
"It's rare for me to love an EP so quickly, but Boston-area act Stars Like Ours are doing power pop absolutely right. It's a tight five songs from a band with a few EPs under their belt, but they sound like an act with exponential work in their history already. This is a truly wonderful listen, don't miss out." - If It's Too Loud
"Stars Like Ours are quickly becoming a local favorite around here. The trio's latest single, "What's Going Wrong," has a giant 90's power pop sound but a little bit of a Boston garage rock edge to it. This is Stars Like Ours' specialty, and they nail it with this one. This is a huge song with fuzzy guitars and pounding drums. If you remember back when record stores would have a stack of sampler CDs by the door or register, filled with a few songs from artists you knew but were a great way to discover new favorites, you're going to love "What's Going Wrong." Even if you weren't around for that era, it's going to make you nostalgic for it." - If Its Too Loud
"Stars Like Ours — a contemporary band reminiscent of a moment when Boston was the center of the indie rock universe — is the perfect addition to Rum Bar Records' growing stable of extraordinary hometown talent. If you like buzzing indie rock with a strong pop sensibility, you too may find yourself wondering where this band has been all your life!" - Lord Rutledge
"Stars Like Ours blend ’90s-licked alt-rock with throwback pop hooks, which wouldn’t sound out of place on a mix alongside Belly and Letters To Cleo." - Vanyaland
In your face guitar hooks, sing along choruses, and a penchant for writing 90's alt-rock anthems deeply rooted in Boston Garage Punk, Stars Like Ours deliver their eagerly anticipated Rum Bar Records sophomore release.
