about

"While The Hi-End is a band inspired by all of the great eras of rock and roll, the two cover selections here really hit the intersection of pub rock, power pop, and first wave punk. And you know that's a real sweet spot for me! "Heart of the City", of course, is the Nick Lowe classic. "Tonight" is from the first album by The Boys - one of my personal favorite U.K. '77 punk groups. Both songs were among the first The Hi-End ever played together as a band. That tells you a lot about what The Hi-End is all about. Beyond that, these versions give you a great idea of what an absolutely killer band this is!" - Faster And Louder

"A great double side of high octane Rock and Roll. Do not skimp on the volume!" - The Secret Weapon Radio

"Hey babe, Heart of the City is great." - Genya Ravan

"The Hi-End rock like crazy on their latest single. They tackle “Heart of the City” by Nick Lowe and “Tonight” by the Boys. Between the two guitar crunch and Carlevale on vocals they can’t miss on material like this. It’s a done deal." - Boston Groupie News

"Omg Lou, a revved-up Nick Lowe cover??? That hits all the pressure points!" - Scott Hudson, The Ledge - Real Punk Radio

"DAMN! This digi single is blistering! Too hot for vinyl?" - William White

Since The Hi-End began five years ago we’ve included different covers in our live set and we still do. These two are among first that we ever played together as a band. While finishing recording Class Kicks in 2019 we wrapped up the session with Nick Lowe’s “Heart of The City” and “Tonight” by The Boys. We hope that you have as much fun listening as we had playing them.
