Walk Away 03:55
Pretty picture torn in two it’s true we’re losing steam Goin' nowhere caught between heartbreak and a dream I stood in the rain for you you were not satisfied I carried the pain for two I held you when you cried Pretty picture I recall it all so foolishly Kept me hangin' on the edge of love and misery I wore the dress for you I gave you all I had I said, “Yes,” then, “I do” to see the good in you go bad Walk away there’s nothing left to do I can’t escape the the dark side of me and you Walk away there’s nothing left for me And I can’t pretend that we were meant to be Nananananana… Whiskey kisses lonely missus up all night again Left the light on we get our fight on when I come stumbling in I waited in vain for you while the moon seduced the sun You made it plain we’re through 'cause the shadow in me won Walk away there’s nothing left to do I can’t escape the the dark side of me and you Walk away there’s nothing left for me And I can’t pretend that we were meant to be I’ll take the bottle I’ll take the blame this knot has been untied Keep your troubles keep your name ‘cause something in you died Now I’m walking away I’m walking away I’m walking away from you…BABY Walk away there’s nothing left to do I can’t escape the the dark side of me and you Walk away there’s nothing left for me And I can’t pretend that we were ever meant to be Nananananana…

about

"Walk Away" is the first single (an earworm that will immediately burrow into the listener's brain) from Eddie Japan's eponymous full-length release, 'Pop Fiction,' pouring on tap at Rum Bar Records, February, 2023!

"The new single "Walk Away" is so incredibly infectious and one of my faves of the year." - The Oedipus Project

"The new single by Eddie Japan (a band not a person just to get that one cleared up from the start) with the duelling male and female vocals conjuring up the odd image of what might happen if Meatloaf and Sparks decided to meet up for a jam. Which is a good thing, I promise you." - Nite Songs

"Leave it to Eddie Japan to come back into our lives with a single titled “Walk Away.” But the Boston band is certainly no stranger to musical juxtapositions, existing with a certain elegance and class deep within our usually grimy garage rock city." - Vanyaland

"Walk Away," the new single from Eddie Japan, is an uptempo duet showcasing the band's co-vocalists Emily Drohan and David Santos. A tale of failed romance with themes of co-dependence and betrayal ("I can't escape / the dark side of me and you"), the song's punchy half-time verses are punctuated with modern production elements that give way to full-on 4/4 power pop choruses. The classic 'na na na' post-chorus refrain is an earworm that will immediately burrow into the listener's brain. An accompanying music video was shot largely in silhouette with a striking red background, underscoring the shadow side of this doomed relationship.
