"Time for a wake up call. Miss Georgia Peach and band mates return to the blog on full blast. Drop The Needle is a dirty rocker only to be touched with thick gloves on. Ms Peach sounds as dirty as the lead guitar played by her long time partner Travis Ramin. The song is written by rhythm guitarist Justin Staggs, to complete the band. There's no room for any kind of subtlety on this single. The band simply goes full out and does not stop until the very final seconds. Hearing the level of energy that is shared here, it is almost inconceivable The Short Fuses is around for over 25 years. This band is not giving in an inch to ageing and goes at it like a couple of youngster bursting out of the garage and combine the bursting part with years of experience. The ‘Fuses are back with a new single on Rum Bar, “Drop the Needle”. Just as rocking and stylistically unwavering as ever, “Drop” delivers the hard rocking riffs and powerful vocals the band is loved for.

The Short Fuses were formed in 1997 by core members Travis Ramin, Miss Georgia Peach and Justin Staggs. Playing a mixture of classic punk, a Motorhead influence with a Blondie attitude, they shared the stage with all of the punk garage greats of the era including Nashville Pussy, DGeneration and New Bomb Turks. Endorsements from Flipside writers, The Lazy Cowgirls & show attendees Poison Ivy and Lux Interior of The Cramps led to them releasing a single and album on Sympathy for the Record Industry and subsequent gigs with The White Stripes and other Sympathy label mates.

2017 saw the Short Fuses diving back into the scene with their Rum Bar Records album “Dawn of the Deaf” produced by a super squad of Daniel Rey, Adrian Popovich (of Tricky Woo) and THE Geza X. This is said to be their best effort to date.
